Devil May Cry 4 | 8.5

Part 1 made history with his new action inventive system. The setting was beautiful, the enemies were memorable good (the puppet) and the story was interesting. Part 2 was a flop, too short, too easy, I can still continue. Part 3 was a good step, this time the story was better and the introduction of Vergil succeeded so well that there is a Special Edition was released, so it was playable. The wait is over. Dante is back in Devil May Cry 4, but this time there's another person in the spotlight. It is not Vergil from Section 3, but a newcomer named Nero. This young lad is a bit the victim and is itself partly become devils. Literally one part, only his arm became devils and the Devil Bringer said. Very negative, this arm also is not there, Nero uses to his advantage and know a lot of demons cup size. This is not everything, there's more but for that you read! The game opens with an opera that sung by Kyrie. Nero is on its way to the opera and is embroiled in a battle with the little puppets. These enemies you'll encounter more often, these are the standard against which you'll fight demons and **** are simple beings. After this wonderful directed cut-scene begins the great misery. The big star of the franchise makes his rise. Dante appears out of nowhere and kills the leader of the Holy Knights, Sanctius in the middle of the prayer was addressed to the father of Dante, Sparda. So far the intro, very spectacular. A few moments later, begins his battle to save Nero and Dante try a cup size. Now it is clear to see that Devil May Cry 4 has embarked on the mainstream side. The first battle you run is a fight with Dante. This step by step all the basic controls and abilities explained. Once in control, Dante goes by and the search is launched. Nero joins his girlfriend and brother of Kyrie Kyrie, Credo (also the leader of the Holy Knights), the Fortuna city rescue at the time devastated by the puppets. From now play with Nero, Kyrie and Credo flights to the headquarters. Nero is now at the Castle of Fortuna, as Dante will be assumed that there is. I will not tell you more about the story, it would remove too much tension. Devil May Cry was the always the story, so it would be a shame to spoil more. The story is little to criticize. We could also satisfied with the graphics. The clothing of the characters are at times incredibly well done. Just Amazing. These are truly times when I'm talking about, because sometimes the graphics are nice, but not great. The faces are somewhat less. The textures are as simplistic, it against the facial animations very well done. It's so varied. I speak mostly on close-ups of the main characters. To get the nitpicking behind us, we take a random example, the bosses. They look incredibly good. There is one I remember that almost looks real, Bael, a huge frog that really looks slick. Action, this is about the soul of this franchise. It is full of it. You're less than a second to walk to the next area to kick ass, or you're already haunted by creepy creeps. However, there is a but, the demons you encounter, always come in groups fixed on you. If you encounter Mephisto example, a cross between a lizard and a tight dress surrounded by a devil, you will always have to address simultaneously two. So you will often identify a set pattern to other enemies, making it perhaps a little repetitive about to come. Thankfully, the interspersed by many boss fights, which is really spectacular. It is pure enjoyment when you take on a huge demon. They fill the entire screen with their four to five times bigger than you, it's always back and forth across the screen. Crazy at times, this is Devil May Cry has always been known for, among other. It was always known for the difficulty of the boss battles. About the hard part I have said nothing. Devil May Cry 4 is compared to its predecessor (except part than 2) on the easy side. In the beginning you can choose a difficulty level. Human (easy) or Devil Hunter (Normal). To the real evil Nero / Dante to feel, choose your course for Devil Hunter. This felt like a rather easy fashion, when I compare with Part 1 or the more recent Devil May Cry 3. Perhaps logical, it would be the average mainstream gamer may be deterred if it would be too hard. For mainstream gamers a good thing to reduce the entry threshold, but for those who confesses to the series if it is more difficult. The bosses are sometimes too easy to defeat and reduced the challenging aspect. Bosses do not you just. Each boss has its own weakness and is only one way easy to beat. One of those ways is of course no two fingers in your nose stop. You'll be quite some combos from your sleeve to shake. Devil May Cry 4 is full of it. With Nero you, you good fun with the Devil Bringer. This allows you, pull enemies toward you, then their way to the afterlife to whack. For example, you even when you're in the air after jumping, the enemies to you to seize that black and blue heels. You can link together so many moves that you for a while even hangs in the air. It is a point where an entire scene with all those cool moves! Introducing a new character in the series was a good decision. Nero is not troublesome. You can enjoy with him and fight the Devil Bringer is really successful. Then we came to Dante. Somewhere in the middle of the game you switch to Dante. When this happens you can not get a little tutorial to Dante in the master, as you initially had with Nero. For those who ever tried a previous section or know about it would be no problem, but for novice gamers DMC is it very accustomed. All this time you used the many devils and demons to you to draw many air combos to perform, on the ground rams, and so on. Dante keep his feet more on the ground, his whole style is different than that of Nero. Yet there is a kind of balance so you both can find great demon hunters. Here is good piece of work delivered. Back to Dante. For those who already know from Section 3 is generating what I have to mention no news. You can also choose from four types of weather this time fighting styles. Sword Master (a style focused on the use of your sword), Trickster (a style aimed at avoiding attacks), Gunslinger (a style that focuses on the use of nail makers) and Royal Guard (a style that focuses on the blocks of attacks). These four types of fighting styles you'll soon reach a conclusion, Dante has more moves than Nero. In Section 3 it was so that at the beginning of a mission should you choose which style of exploration.

Fortunately, they removed and players can play through, using the arrow keys, choose which style you going to go. Very handy. A similar system was used when your weapons. With the R2 and L2 button you switch weapons. Long combos are guaranteed! The sound of heels is beautiful, like the firing of a few very hot leaden balls. Below you will accompany the fight through a portion of solid rock. Some love it, others abhor it. In a game like this that the pit, like that of a runaway bull is it mustache. Not only are we fighting under the provision of music, when we walk around the levels we hear in the distance the beautiful and tranquil gothic sounding music. Really beautiful. As I said earlier, you hear an opera at the beginning. It sounds so beautiful. What is less beautiful sounds, the backtracking part. The whole piece you've fought and fallen with Nero, you actually walk back to Dante. Sounds like a moron, but fortunately there are things (such as new demons that Nero has not fought them) that will bring necessary variety to content drastically reduce boredom. Nice to report, are also known for many things in this section. Thus the Lost Woods section derived from a passage from Part 1, a specific attack that Berial uses the same as that of Phantom (Part 1), Trish (part 1) and Lady (Part 3) make an appearance, the lizard demons Part 1 have a return. All have nice things for gamers who previously fought in the past Dante evil. Not a bad point, all elements are successful. Too bad that the backtracking is taken from the previous sections. There is also a quiet aspect in DMC 4. So you can chill on the couch all the cut scenes look at ease. You can also see all the characters met and a brief background of their reading. This also applies to all devils and demons that you've encountered. You can really see everything, even the items and key items. Also very handy if you forgot just how a move looks when you run it, you can also see. We want all to know how the achievement system, which processes would be like. There are a number of challenges that you can get, for example, remove red orbs or search level 10.000 11. If this is successful you get a picture to see a reward. So you may contact your friends who sit in your friends list, also see what they all have achieved. What is also really fun when you are logged online and the game starts, you can see at what level a friend. There is also a ranking that shows how many points you're away from the first place. Devil May Cry 4 is very successful. The introduction of Nero did many people wait, hoping that he would not ruin entire game atmosphere. I can reassure you, I was one of those people and say that he more than succeeded. The Devil Bringer is incredible, the combos you can perform it are phenomenal. The action is fast. Let's not forget good old hand Dante. He too is back in full glory and kick every ass. The bosses are super crazy to fight (Echidna is perhaps my favorite) and the environments in which the two heroes find themselves are beautiful. Many things are used in Part 1 and Part 4 in a different guise processed. Not a bad thing at all, even successful. So I can say that the level designs are very good. The story is perfectly fine and the various weapons that Dante gets his hands are too great to handle. I could mention so much that is good in this game, I do already have it. If you backtracking takes for granted you have a deal Major games. Meaning in action? Buy Devil May Cry 4!

Kingdom Hearts 2 | 10

Like most people, I was hooked on the Disney-meets-Final Fantasy game known as Kingdom Hearts, which recieved such a huge cult following. And I was feverishly waiting for the sequel to come out, which has been considered as one of the most highly-anticipated games of the PS2.

Now that it's here, and after playing through it, let me give my thoughts on the aspects of this game:

Storyline:

The game picks up where the Chain of Memories left off as a mysterious being Roxas (Jesse McCartney)unknowingly has some sort of connection to the Keyblade bearer, Sora, who has been kept in a slumber capsule along with Donald and Goofy for almost a year, now. The first 2-3 hours of the game you'll play as Roxas, leading to flashback scenes of the first game and the COM games, which is good news for the newcomers wanting to play this game. Afterwards, the game picks up to speed as you finally play as Sora, back on his feet to find Riku and King Mickey...and Kairi, as well. At the same time, however, he has to defend the worlds by Heartless and strange creatures known as Nobodies led by a strange black cloaked group called Organization XIII.

Mickey, in particular, plays a larger and more awesome role in this game, given the fact that earlier he wears the same black cloak of the Organization.

After playing the game here, I can well say that the storyline is the game's strongest point overall. It asks the lingering questions that were running through our own minds as we played the first game. And best of all, it's all made so we can never constantly expect what's going to happen next.

Graphics:

A vast improvement over the first; more solid animations, and lesser "cheating" facial animations as well. I was shocked to see the game through my own eyes at how excellent Square Enix has done. The camera's problems, in particular, have been fixed to perfection, thereby, moving the control of the camera from the L2 and R2 buttons to the R3 analog stick, giving you the chance to move it whereever you want it to.

Levels:

There are 15 levels as followed:

Twighlight Town
Hollow Bastion (returning level from the first game)
The Land of Dragons
Beast's Castle
Olympus Coliseum (returning level)
Disney Castle
Timeless River
Atlantica (returning level)
Port Royal
Agrabah (returning level)
Halloween Town (returning level)
Pride Land
100 Acre Wood (returning level)
Space Paranoids
The World That Never Was

A few of the worlds here have returned from the first game, but are entirely redone so that they won't play exactly like the first game. Atlantica was strangely turned into a mini-game world, but Olympus Coliseum and Halloween Town are a vast improvement, because they follow directly from their own movies. 100 Acre Wood's book makes a comeback as you fetch the torn pages for it once again. Hallow Bastion becomes a BraveHeart-esque level and answers most of the questions overall from the first game. In addition, Mulan (The Land of Dragons) and Beauty and the Beast (Beast's Castle) recieve their own worlds, and surprisingly, there's a Steamboat Wille-themed world, Timeless River, which adds very well to how Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and even Sora would look like in the 1930s Disney cartoons. This ties in with the Disney Castle world, which Sora will meet Queen Minnie for the first time.

The biggest dissapointment is the Lion King-themed world, Pride Land, which grows so annoying even after the first few minutes. The best level of this whole game, however, is the Tron-themed level, Space Paranoids. This ties in wholly with the movie itself, and looks downright amazing. The trio, in particular, get to wear the cool, blue-lighted suits you see those people wear in the movie itself.

Music/Voices:

The music is on par with the first game. Some music, in the returning worlds, is still the same (except Antlantica), while the rest recieves some new orchestrations which are absolutely superb. There's plenty more where that came from.

The voices hit more than miss. The roles of Haley Joel Osment, Tony Anselmo, and Bill Farmer as Sora, Donald, and Goofy have returned, as well as the rest of the cast in the returning levels. (I still couldn't believe they didn't get Robin Williams to do the voice of Genie, and have to dig up Homer Simpson.) The Pride Land level has the worst voices overall with almost no depth from the cast in the movie whatsoever; Port Royal doesn't have the same movie cast either, but the guys here sound exactly like the movie's cast. I was really shocked.

The most surprising roll, however comes from Saruman the White himself, Christopher Lee as Diz (aka Ansem the Wise--you'll find out soon enough), the main man of Hollow Bastion. When I first watched his role as Diz, I was blown away at how well he delivered his preformance; I kept asking myself, "How the f*** did they get him to do this?!"

Gameplay/Lifespan

The gameplay, too, hits more than misses. You'll have more combo attacks than the first game, and you'll be able to do "reaction commands" with the triangle button (which seems awful similar to the context-sensitive actions in Conker's Bad Fur Day). The Drive Command is a nice touch, too; You'll mostly need it when you're fighting a boss. In some areas, when Sora bites the dust in some of the bosses, you'll play as Mickey, trying to bring Sora back to life.

The biggest flaw, however, comes from the difficulty presented in this game. What made the first game so difficult was the camera's issues which make it so hard to see where the heck you're going. Now that they're fixed, you can hack and slash anywhere you want to, which makes it a lesser challenge than before.

Luckily, thanks to the addition of an Expert mode, as well as making yourself having to come back to the worlds you've already open paths to for "second quests", this game is almost as long as the first; The first took 30 hours for me to beat and this game took me almost 29 hours. It's safe for me to say, "Close enough."

Overall:

Despite the difficulty flaws, you'll definitely have a fun time with this game. I certainly enjoyed it and I'd say KHII is definitely better than the first, despite a few of the lackluster reviews on some online sites.

Killzone 2 | 9.0

If the game is good, it has become a rhetorical question. The game is like a house, but keep doing what we now is whether the game where the hype will make. After playing we can say that it lived up to expectations. This is because virtually every important aspect in this game to perfection is simply developed and that is all that counts here now. Criticism is not really close, it is minimal in contrast with what the rest is negligible. But now is an honest answer to why this game the hype to know what is important and that we answer you give in this review. Read on to so quickly find out what makes Killzone 2 as good.

There are several factors that make this huge hype, they bring some to doubt, and now we are happy for these doubts. Every aspect that we critically look at Killzone 2 in a game is absolutely amazing, the game developed and provide a good score lead. Graphics will be stunned everyone, the gameplay any gamer will know and appreciate the audio level is extremely strong. But what is so special with the graphics? It has been shown that many people know this now. Yet the graphics are only good to her right when you're playing the game.

Graphically the game so incredibly strong that it is a delight for the eye. In terms of level design each level has some variation. So you, you are in small confined spaces, on moving parts and open fields. What all this so special is that each level is designed graphically different, thus you get a good feeling as a player in terms of variety and you notice that you, your in a different location. Moreover, the unprecedented level of detail each. For example, the walls have fallen and propaganda posters hanging everywhere, this is only a fraction of what is to be observed. Levels that are broken and where it is a mess because of the war, half burnt flags bijhangen bleak and so on.

The attention to detail is so incredibly strong in this game that Guerrilla Games to talk about perfectionism when it comes to completing the various levels. All you should also read as something in itself and is certainly not in contrast with the gameplay. If you even take the trouble to quietly look around at different locations then you will notice how much time and effort the developer has put into it and that makes the game so graphically very strong. It is not just that it looks so nice, it looks extremely tight in another. The level of graphics remain the entire game on one line and that is why the game includes a graphic master.

What this also plays a major role is the animations. Regularly while playing the game we watched precisely express what the Helghast do, and then in particular their movements. A strong example, which unfortunately in many games at all is that perfectionism interacts as NPC's movements or to make certain items that they just are always hovering above or beside you so soon as one player just not feeling. Killzone 2 We found in a moment where two soldiers climb over a fence and it looked so incredibly good that we overcame the feeling that the game animation in that area is so incredibly good Guerrilla simply be called a king.

We just described just a moment, but this is so much more common and that makes the game visually very strong. Each plane is in fact worked to perfection. The design and decoration of the levels is so detailed that you can simply conclude that nothing in terms of graphics Guerrilla a new standard. Until now, it was the strongest Uncharted graphics if you ask most editors. This is so different since early January 2009. Killzone 2 is graphically so overwhelming that we can talk for hours about through. Yet we can not resist a detail report. If you have a Helghast shooting death once you look at the eyes, which slowly deaf.

Look, that's something you normally your shoulders for pick up, but if these details occur continuously in the game, then it seems obvious is not it? Then there is the audio, now there are many good shooters with an appropriate range of actors who provide voices. Some games do this well is unfortunately not others. Killzone 2, there is nothing to be desired. Each major character has his own voice and they are all convincing voice. Plus the benefits that Guerrilla has chosen not to use Dutch voice actors. The game is entirely in English, but the Dutch still to understand what is being said in conversations there are subtitles.

This is again only a small part of the big picture, but the point is that here is thinking about it and that money for every aspect of the game. As mentioned above, each character has his or her own voice and all sound pretty convincing. For example, what jumps out well in the credibility of the characters is Visari. The leader of the Helghast, he has a voice that really suits them perfectly and when he speaks. Against the ISA soldiers or his men, then you almost hear the emotion in his voice and that is another aspect that Killzone 2 simply very good makes.

Not only the voice acting is good in this game, the soundtrack is like the first part is very fat. Joris de Man is once again responsible for a decent soundtrack and we've been able to tell that he succeeded in his work. The music plays well into the action, once you're fully in the fight, the music also very exciting and hard. Once the battle is over take the weather, interactive music and sounds so good. Indeed, it fits in the atmosphere of this game and that is important. Still not talked about the sound of the weapons and the numerous explosions. To review not too long to tell us only the following about the preceding sentence. The audio is also thick in the parts order, now it sounds perhaps a bit cliche, but really not much we can do about it.

Then we come to perhaps the most important part of the whole review, the gameplay. How overwhelming the audiovisual aspect is, the gameplay is a title that probably will stand or fall. Now the game has three components, the singleplayer, and multiplayer battles. The single is an unprecedented adventure that on the normal difficulty in one hours and ten to twelve runs. Here you get all aspects Killzone 2 very strong for you and you choose, you start to enjoy the end. The levels are varied, the battles are constantly different and that's important. So sometimes you get bad a few Helghast soldiers under your nose, but it can also run in the dozens.

Beautiful aspect here is that the Helghast are not stupid. They have a good AI inherited from Mr developers and you will know. Frequently we were in a fierce battle and when we thought that peace had returned we found the time to go. Not knowing that there was a Helghast who was hiding behind a set of objects for us coolly in the back to attack. This is for several times and that many variations and what example we did realize that the AI is thick in order, as the Helghast know you're a sniper rifle.

Normally it is quiet as you zoom in and find out target shooting and rotten, that Helghast are constantly moving so the sniping is a lot harder. This contrasts with the action that almost the entire game to the issue of the gameplay in the singleplayer is one to remember. Then there is the chaos, before the impression was already cited the chaos that constantly dominates the atmosphere is largely determined and we now several times throughout the game from A to Z by play, we have noticed that the good atmosphere in this game is because it is such chaos. Because the levels are so well designed you imagine, you are in a real war. The Helghast defend many points in their real lives and all they have.

It is a huge mess, all around you hear pops, both near and far and then the two sides together by running around and shooting everything that moves. Chaos at the top and if one aspect is what makes the gameplay like no other, that's it. The singleplayer is a great wild ride, which may have been relatively linear set that has one of the best rides in my life has become part. If that's not enough says that game, Killzone 2, is the case. Usually we can summarize all aspects rather short and well reflect the reader. But a game like Killzone 2 offers so much that I'm already on page four when there are two gameplay elements should be discussed.

Thus, the editors also very much the mode "battle" played, this is actually exactly the same as multiplayer. Here you only play against bots. All are playable multiplayer maps and playing against bots is most entertaining. The bots can be set in terms of skills and accounting but you a decent chunk of them have at the moment you put high on their level. This mode is similar in wording might be relatively easy to describe so we can quickly go to the multiplayer itself. Remember that in any case this mode is really a welcome addition and certainly will provide entertainment for many hours. Sad fact is that not one more man on PlayStation 3 playable.

The multiplayer. We can very long or quite short on talk. Let us only briefly about it. The overall conclusion is simply that this is also very strong and greatly extends life of Killzone 2. The game has a number of maps based on the single player levels and include the ISA and Helghast fight their fights online. Now that multiplayer is slightly different from normal. You play a match because several species type games. So take a round can easily run half hours as it types like team deathmatch multiplayer, marked man, capture the flag and search & destroy pass. These types alternate for five to ten minutes, and the team with the most total points wins the round.

Then it takes a completely even fight once more rounds, so you know it. A good night is necessary to try to go completely loose in the multiplayer. Playing in the multiplayer itself, well, very simple. This works fine and so far we have not encountered any problems. It is pretty cool and if you an avid Killzone player than you are, here in the coming years will enjoy them enormously. It is also agreed that a game species level system so you know, your character as you gain experience points for each save an individual style that you can assign and interpret it as creating a private soldier with the various possibilities that the game you offers.

This will allow the variations later in the game properly and be extended through proper clan support will not be long before the first clans to all specialist members appear. This may in battle clans with similar members will be unnerving and, perhaps for many an aspect to look forward to. Forget the superficial terms and similar levels of Call of Duty. Killzone 2 is the multiplayer game of choice. Also in this section of the game there was virtually no downside to detect us. Or do they? It was unfortunate that we have so far been able to find an option to just deathmatch or any other type to play herself. The multiplayer itself or again very great, so after several hours you would actually not play back. Guerrilla simply combines everything into one type and it works!

Killzone 2, say what a game. If there is one game that Sony will have fame in 2009 than it was Killzone 2. Virtually every aspect is superb and everyone worked so far has played the game, which it is now clear. This game should just go get an absolute winner! Guerrilla Games just put themselves on the map again as one of the best developers in the world and while they may be more than proud of the work they are delivered with Killzone 2. This game is really fantastic and then I speak for several people from the editors. You! Killzone 2 just go out on February 27, when a game this year is the highest level, then it is this one.

Kingdom Hearts 10

Yeah, I know "adequate" isn't exactly an attention grabber for a review but I couldn't think of another way to describe this game. However, I will elaborate.

The game's plot revolves around multiple dimension-like worlds in the Disney and Final Fantasy universe. Kind of like a Mickey Mouse version of the show "Sliders". Anyway, you have to travel to all of these worlds looking for your standard bad guys the Heartless. Your main character, Sora, holds the key to defeating the Heartless and setting things right again. I'm not kidding, he actually uses a weapon called a "keyblade". And you thought the gunblade was original. In your travels you'll go to Agrabah (home of Aladdin), Wonderland, Neverland, Olympus, Tarzan's jungle, and others. All the while encountering critters from Disney cartoons and Final Fantasy games.

Being a Final Fantasy fan, the major draw for me in this game was seeing Final Fantasy characters from Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 10. Unfortunately, this is one aspect of the game that disappoints. Cameos are limited. I haven't played through the entire game but it seems that the only characters playing significant roles are Leon (aka Squall from FF8), Cid (from FF7), and a little bit from Yuffie (FF7) and Aerith (Aeris/FF7). Sure old favorites Cloud and Sephiroth make appearances, but they don't play major roles in the game. And in the end, you could easily replace them with normal, original NPCs. Square's number one reason for including them is to pander to the Final Fantasy crowd. Mission accomplished, I bought it.

You'll mostly be encountering Disney characters. Disney NPCs, Disney party members, even Disney summon monsters. For me, all that Disney stuff would make me vomit, but it isn't as childish as you would think. Donald and Goofy provide you with battle support and they're good for a laugh in cutscenes. On the downside, all of the worlds I've seen so far are Disney worlds, nothing from Final Fantasy, or at least anything original - except for the first island you start on, and that reminds me of Besaid from FFX.

The voice acting in the game is short. Most of what you see are dialogue boxes or speech bubbles instead of actual voices. But the voices that are in the game are excellent. Square and Disney actually hired some professional talent for a few of the non-Disney characters. And even the Disney characters are voiced by either the original voice actor from their respective movies, or the actor from the TV series spinoff (in a few cases). The dialogue is a little choppy in some areas, but it's not as ridiculous as some of the translated dialogue in other games.

Play control. Jeez. Controlling your character is relatively easy. Battles are a little tougher because of the battle menu, but they do provide a few shortcut buttons for magic, etc. The absolute worst thing is the platform jumping. Between the camera angles and your nitwit sidekicks, it's difficult to land some jumps. Donald and Goofy are constantly in the way, they follow you around like the characters in Final Fantasy 8 do, unfortunately you can't walk through them. I had to push Goofy off a ledge a few times just to see where I was going. They do add a remedy for the problems - a first person "look around" view. It helps to see around and to line yourself up with a jump, but it doesn't help if you turn the camera around to look for a platform only to see that annoying duck standing in your way. And in battle they were basically useless for me. After playing Devil May Cry, I'm good enough with melee sword combat that I don't need the backup of a giant dog with a shield and a duck who can't hit a monster the size of a building with a fire spell.

The minor problems aside, the game has its strengths. The story and the cutscenes make you feel like you're actually controlling a Disney movie - not necessarily a bad thing. And the freedom of movement in battles was a nice change from turn-based Final Fantasy combat. It's no Final Fantasy X, but Kingdom Hearts ranks as one of the best RPGs I've ever played.

Pros:
-Great battle system
-Top notch voice acting
-Music is good and it sets the mood in certain areas
-Original and engaging story

Cons:
-Donald and Goofy get in the way
-Other members of your party aren't very helpful in battle
-Final Fantasy angle not as prominant as many would like

Overall I gave it four stars taking into consideration the flaws. If you're looking for an original RPG, I would recommend this game. But if you're looking for a Final Fantasy clone, this isn't it. Otherwise I think everyone should give this game a shot. Rent it first, and if you like it then buy it.

Street Fighter IV | PS3 | 9.5

Best fighting game since Virtua Fighter 4 on PS2.

In 1987, Japan in the Street Fighter game, and it was a great success. N more than twenty years after, Street Fighter IV in the shops and there is plenty happened during those twenty years. There are several spin-offs and even published a number of films, but knows Street Fighter has repeatedly assert among other Beat 'm Up franchise like Virtua Fighter, Tekken and Mortal Kombat. Street Fighter IV is now in the shops, but how does it do for each other Capcom that consumers will buy the game? What is the secret of Street Fighter IV and how is it da t when you lose a battle you would like nothing better than your controller to pieces on the ground to throw? Many questions to be answered, so let's start with the quick review of Street Fighter IV.

A franchise that has more than twenty years is going along quite unique in the game industry. There are of course more games that have achieved and generally going Beat 'm Up games long. Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter and King of Fighters any more even than fifteen years. Tekken for nearly ten years. The secret of a good beat 'm up game is actually quite logical. If the gameplay well dimensioned, then the game a success. The story does not really matter and if the game has reasonable graphics quickly is a very popular game. Yet developers sometimes make mistakes. Midway, Mortal Kombat responsible for, makes the most mistakes, because a Mortal Kombat is not as fun as ever. Capcom has also made mistakes with Street Fighter.
The first Street Fighter game was good, but so good was this game not ending. It made, however, that Capcom decided to bring out a sequel. This resulted in one of the best Beat 'm Up games ever created, namely Street Fighter II. It was the second part of the known world and would ensure that we twenty years after the first part, again able to enjoy a Street Fighter game. When the second part appeared on the Super Nintendo Capcom saw her bank account quite be lined. The game has sold millions of times in the arcade and Street Fighter II's would become one of the most played arcade games of all time. However, before the third part came first appeared many spin-offs from the Alpha series and the EX Series .

All the games that appeared in the Alpha and EX series would never get the status that Street Fighter II did. They were not all bad call, but better than the second part they were not sure whether a person can sometimes differ in opinion. Capcom saw at least that was good to earn the Street Fighter franchise and it was not ready to launch spin-offs. So there were also Street Fighter games that would fall under the heading of Versus. X-Men VS Street Fighter, the popular Street Fighter game from the U.S. series, but Capcom VS SNK did well. Last game brought together two competitors and it was filled with Street Fighter and King of Fighters characters. The last game of the series was U.S. Tatsunoko VS Capcom and it was even possible to Ryu (the famous Street Fighter character) to fight against Viewtiful Joe.
Street Fighter III was a lesser period for the Street Fighter franchise. The game was selling well, so Capcom heard you complaining, but did the fans do. Not to much to devote the third part, I will however continue to conclude that the third part was just slightly less than the previous parts. Soon the fans were screaming for a new part, not knowing that they are more than ten years would have to wait. The announcement of Street Fighter IV in late 2007 led to mixed feelings. Beat 'm Up games were 3D and despite all those years that fans were waiting neatly on a new part, they were each afraid that Street Fighter IV would be 3D. Fortunately for the fans and the whole Beat 'm Up genre has never happened. Street Fighter IV is again a real Street Fighter game.

Let's start with the characters. The most famous Street Fighter characters are in the fourth section, namely Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Sagat, Blanka and Ken of course. Throw Vega and M. Bison in again and you have a nice line up. Of course there are other Street Fighter characters which terugkerenin the quarter, but the new characters are also worth to be listed. What about Rufus, d e American fast food eating fat man he just sharing d is fighting to prove to his girlfriend. C. Viper an attractive spy during the fighting or her ground state. Seth will be the most talked about newcomer, because Seth is the boss. He steals the moves of competitors and the stomach contains a black hole and that makes him weaker, but extremely strong.
Which character you take, all have their own fighting style, but equally important is the appearance of the characters. Little has changed the look of existing characters and new characters fit perfectly between. The biggest change, when it comes to the appearance of the characters, is determined by the appearance of the game you all. Capcom has chosen one of the top cell-shaded appearance, which all characters have a much broader look than ever before. We can also say that it looks a lot better, because with the strength of the current consoles and arcades, the game graphics really a leap. Whether you are here to do it or not, it fits in the Street Fighter franchise and it is important that everything is 2D. At least, almost all.

The fighting happened fortunately still in 2D, but the 3D characters and environments are not as static as ever. The only correct conclusion we can make is that Street Fighter IV plays as before, but much slicker look as before. No placement feels weird and that can really only Capcom doing right. Capcom has been carefully handled to release pictures of gameplay, but after the first trailer was announced that Street Figher IV would look amazing. And again whether you like this graphic style it or not, it fits perfectly with Street Fighter IV. Graphics were they hardly do better all while the fighting still just be 2D. As everyone knows is central to a Beat 'm Up game not just the appearance. The gameplay is the most important in a Beat 'm Up game.
The fans went o p their knees when it was announced that Street Fighter IV 2D in a 3D fighting would have jacket and concise, it was right that they went on their knees. Street Fighter IV plays fantastic and that is because a number of factors. Thus, complex combinations Street Fighter never known and still play the game with only six action buttons. The differences between the moves lies more in the state where your character moves. The moves are different when a state character, jump or kneel and that mix is good enough to make for exciting fights. Of course there are special moves back into the game process and it works again as well as before. There's something new, namely a Focus Attack and Ultra Combo's Revenge meter, but since we do not go into excessive detail. This is more because it all works so well, we just have to say that it works so well to this n I already done that.

It may sound strange, but really we do not really need much more to say about Street Fighter IV. It plays just great and it looks great. The arcade mod us knows much difficulty and that is especially important for beginners, who can work up slowly. The Challenge mod us is divided into three segments and this is pretty much pure padding, no combos unless you know you can just carry it here in the U.S. Tr ia l mod. There is also a training mod just us, but it looks more like a jar of pine, while few can learn, unless you want to know how much damage each blow or combination brings about. The excellent online game play and the PlayStation 3 version is again filled with Trophies. The only thing I still would like to inform you that you just have to buy the game, because at present there is no better Beat 'm Up game.

Final Fantasy VIII | 8.5

After reading countless reviews and talking to many other FF fans in person at conventions and all, I feel compelled to say this first.

To those who write off this game to worship Final Fantasy VII, as sad as it is to say, FF7 was more of a disappointment (OMG!! I must be a heathen in the world of FF Fans). While FF7 did bring about an interesting story with one of the most bad ass villains ever known, I can't understand why there was and still is so much hype that there is. The music wasn't anything special to me, and many of the playable characters seemed...well, boring. Clouds amnesia and mistaken identity was about the only real interesting thing about any of the playable characters. Also, there was only a two year difference in the games, yet why was FF7's so cheesy? But I will admit, it was a complete revelation in the franchise and managed to provide unforgettable twists in the story that many FF fans will forever remember.

Now on to what I have to say about this game. Personally, this is by far my favorite Final Fantasy title. Saying this though, I can see why others might have disliked it, I do feel it is simply a matter os perspective and in many ways, Final Fantasy VIII was a revelation in its own rights.

First of all, I can understand the complains with the characters. I myself was surprised at first of how much of a dick the main character was. Yet at the same time, part of me was relieved to take a break from the typical character that was designed so every player can like him. Squall on the other hand, was seemed to be designed for the very purpose for everyone to DISLIKE him, be it the characters in the game of the players themselves. Interesting, and a bit refreshing, though sometimes annoying to play as he was so incredibly rude. The rest of the characters were interesting in many ways in their own respect: Quistis struggling to maintain her professionalism as well as sorting out her feelings about some of the others; Zell and his need to be approved of (which many teenagers can relate to); Selphie, who plays the upbeat and loveable character (Yuffie and Rikku anyone?) who can be disturbingly violent (and scary) at times; Irvine, the cocky and flirtatious sharpshooter who has problems with pressure (another imperfect character that is easy to relate to); Edea (in my opinion, on the the most wonderful villains in the series), an evil sorceress that brings a mysticism that is hard to put a label on and that I feel too many villains lack; And Seifer, a rival that is exactly similar and opposite to Squall himself in personality and even appearance.

As for Squall himself, I had a lot of trouble liking him at first, but the more you play through the game, the more his character gradually evolves into a more likable character. Also, learning about his history, you can kind of understand his reasons for being guarded, and you realize that there is a bit more to him than being a self centered ass (though for some reason many people can ONLY see him as such (do they even pay attention to the characters?)). And ahh yes, alas there is Rinoa, the heroin who captures the heart of our protagonist and players. She herself has a few surprising twists in the story and her relationship with Squall is something that can only be described as fate as it nearly picks up where their parents left off (opps, did I say too much?).

Filled with rich and interesting characters, some of whom purposely break free of some FF stereo types, the story itself is wonderfully character driven. Placing us in an environment that seems ancient yet futuristic, it takes us back to the fantasies of witches and sorcery which we feared and loved as children. The music is probably the best I've heard in the series, even shadowing that of FF7 with it's opening of Liberi Fatale, the first ever FF song with lyrics that is non-MIDI, providing a dark and dramatic setting, and also providing us with the love theme Eyes on Me which was second only to Suteki Da Ne. Nobuo Uematsu was simply flawless at instilling the feelings of dark mysticism and anxiety in the presence of Sorceress Edea or the calm and subtle moments shared with party members/friends. Well done!!

Now, for the game play...I have to say it was far from perfect. The Junction System was hard to figure out at first, but once you actually get a grasp of it, it's pretty simple. Though it felt odd at first, it was kind of interesting battle system that doesn't rely on MP, but the JS and seeking spells from enemies (instead of typically handing them to you on a silver platter by "achieving" them at some point in the game). Kind of puts some strategy in. It was a bit annoying at times how reliant you are on Juncioning with the Guardian Forces, but this also is meant to incorporate more strategy as you must be careful when using GFs, cause if they get knocked out, you could be in serious trouble. Interesting how it encourages yet discouraged GF use. Also the amount of random encounters can be enough to make me rip my hair out at times. Also, the parts as Laguna, Ward, and Kiros was wonderful as it providing you with new and interesting characters and providing you with priceless information of the story's background, but it was kind of annoying at how randomly you would play as them in the game, especially when something interesting is going on with the others.

Speeding up a bit now cause I know I've been writing too much, I have to agree that the ultimate villain of the game, Ultimecia was kind of a let down (Edea was soo much more bad ass). But at least it didn't revert to some of the more stereotypical versions, some former hero or knight turned bad (no to offense Sephiroth and Garland) as one of the themes of the game is the "Succession of Witches." The games cinematic were the best they have ever been which weren't outdone until FFX which were always a joy to watch.

Ultimately you'll either love or hate this game, and even more ironically, FF veterans are more likely to hate it as it tends to break away from some of the classic settings and traditions that the series has become known for. Unlike many FF's, this game is very character driven instead of relying on situation. To enjoy this game, it would be best to look past those differences and enjoy it for what it is, not hate it for what FF7 was. Then again, maybe I'm just a black sheep of FF fans as I personally didn't "love" FF7 as so many do. Anyways, I love this game as it provides a new and rich feel to the Final Fantasy Franchise. If you've actually bothered reading this review all he way through, I thank you for reading all of this and am sorry for writing too much. I welcome and comments be them agreements or criticism.

Resident Evil 5 | 9.0

Let me first talk about that drivel, whining and cries of racism and false. After many complaints and news reports that Resident Evil 5 racist it would surely be an item that should be raised. I can already report that you Resident Evil 5 is not racist, but rather the people who claim this are racists in my opinion. Okay, there are Africans and takes place in Africa, but this means that the famous T-, G-, Veronica and Progenitor Viruses can not touch them or that the African continent in cold viruses change? Of course not! Viruses and viruses continue to browse and take you where you are and who you are.

When this issue is therefore my view deeply buried underground or kept in some secret lab and we are really talking about the game itself. The people that the demo already know that these hands have taken game just looks stunning. Nevertheless, the demo we have given the impression that you are constantly in an African setting, around Banjer. Think again. There are several environments in the game are that you as players will have to traverse and clean sweep of all zombies and present enemies. It remains true that the African continent to play, but in addition you also, for example African villages and caves to visit an underground laboratory.

The town from the demo did me the most thought to South Africa, then you are also less color and even white Majini (ie zombies) will encounter. Previously we had already known that this would be added pressure of racism, but the real reason is that South Africa also just white people. Ah, damn, this issue was buried, my apologies. When you enter the Wetlands as a player than you really imagine you in ancient Africa, from African villages, timber with spears, African masks on the wall and faces certain Majini so. If you pass this area are the authentic Africa beyond the horizon soon learned. You will then gradually close to the source of all evil.

Whoever is behind all the evil that happens in Resident Evil 5 is an old friend of the series. Have you played any previous parts, please rumor through flashbacks what you get a few things to know about this person. Also you can read our articles about the history and the story of Resident Evil. Who is this person we obviously do not spoil for you, but acquaintances (ie fans) of the series will obviously not be surprised when they find out who it is then. There is one known from the series present in this game and I was sorry that I soon became obvious who it would be, but this moment should have been a surprise. Chris Redfield expects that a big reunion for the bow has.

As I said in the intro is Resident Evil over the years has changed considerably. This section brings even two big changes with it. The first thing that changed is that now we cannot really talk about survival horror, but about survival-action (I think I just invented a new genre). Resident Evil was and is known for implementing the scenes of fear and this is unfortunately not present in this new section in the series. Of course you still have the most bizarre creations on your roof and you will definitely thrown a lot of sweat into the hands get when there is a large group Majini toward you, including some very large Majini, but really it will not create fear. Do not see this as a downside to this game, because it's a cool game, but as a downside to the franchise, because it was previously typical.

The other aspect that has changed is that Resident Evil 5 more cooperative than single focus. The previous parts were you always in everything you own refurbishing, solve puzzles, bosses, hordes of zombies beat environments to detect items and ammunition and so on. This time you have a partner you'll assist you in your adventures. We are talking about Sheva. The women clean, which is a member of the African branch of the BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Aliance). The BSAA was founded by the U.S. government in cooperation with the United Nations for quite simply the messes, the Umbrella has left. Sheva is in my opinion is one of the most beautiful women ever created for a virtual game, but there is a downside to this woman.

That flaw lies in the AI and yes, I hear you all make jokes about the intelligence of a woman in itself. Before you go make yourself getting stuck there, I will just say that you have the AI is created by one man, so let us resume our focus on what we are talking about the AI. It is namely so that Sheva arranged between you and your enemy gets up (she gets fortunate side again). They also lost a lot ammo stock (not the word ammunition replaced with cash) and she occasionally goes in exactly the wrong Majini go shoot (just who are you to slaughter, while 10 others still walk around). And the biggest disadvantage is still that they regularly submit to die, so you must start again as a gamer.

Do not think that once the game is not to play with Sheva, because they will meet you more than once. She makes sure that more items could be arrested and ammunition, because it also has an inventory. If she has with her health and your life bar is likely to go then they command again without refilling. There are still some points that the addition of half character justifies such as the moments when you're going to die (this is when your life bar runs out), that you kind of an injection which gives the greatest threat averted (although you should do it more to her than they do to you). The biggest advantage of Sheva is that when you're in the game and you will visit, the visitor can pick up the second controller and you can continue playing together.
We are talking about the offline co-op. The best free game to play for some hours and after a lot of hours playing, I was finally in the last chapter, Chapter 6, when a friend of mine on the doorstep. We have also the last chapter (and thus the game itself) played together. Besides that you quite a display area must exchange is the transition very smooth. Cooperation at a certain level to meet or beat a boss to give much more satisfaction with someone next to you on the couch. Another advantage is that the frustrations on the AI of the card is full or the person next to you should never have taken a controller in hand. We are also not assume that you support this than to enable economies of this game.

About the gameplay is still a lot to tell and this is my opinion fine. The Call of Duty 4 generation (so I will only mention here) has been complaining quite run while playing the demo that you can not shoot running. Dear gentlemen, that's always been like with Resident Evil. It just brings more tension when hordes of zombies (Majini) storms come at you and you may well need to aim before they close. It is a still a lot more realistic to aim, your focus this much better. Or read this comparison, do you think Schumacher is not an ordinary car because it gets fast enough drive? Did they shoot the aspect of racing also added another, then we really not talked about a Resident Evil game. I am personally very pleased that they have retained this aspect, the fan will be a nostalgic experience.

Resident Evil 5 is for me a horror game of the year. The many weapons you can find, buy, upgrade and give the game a high replay value, because you can just use it again when you restart. Even after you get the first time playing the game an extra mode, namely the Merce Arie mode. You must then within a certain time do Majini maximum firing and this can play together with someone. Graphics looks great and also the aural, as we used to with Resident Evil, again as it should. The only thing that could have been better for me, is that Sheva could not die, because it had saved many annoyances. Do not get me wrong, the single is really cool to play and cooperative play mode allows the network bit nicer, but obviously belonged a Resident Evil one really frightening to be single, that something is missing.
